Food, water, air – check.
Shelter and safety – check.
So what’s another critical component of physical health? Movement, of course.
Say you sat in the most comfortable chair or laid down in the most heavenly bed in the most luxurious home in the safest of locations and you had the highest quality food, water, and air all within arms reach. Chances are you would become quite ill if you did not move your ass up and out of this chair or bed that you are in. Chances are you would also go crazy if your butt remained in the same spot day after day, week after week, but we’ll talk about mental health another day.
You NEED to move to be healthy. You need to lubricate those joints, stimulate those organs, and get the blood flowing. So the question is – are you able to move? Can you blink, swivel your head, wiggle your toes, clench your fist? Can you move your arms, your legs, your torso? Can you walk, run, and squat?! If you can move in any fashion – be happy, be grateful.
Now, if you are so advanced to the point where you can even take part in the art of exercise, you are swimming in abundance and should be immeasurably happy. If you have food, water, air, shelter, safety AND exercise every day, you are clearly a superhuman bathing in luxury.
